Asante Kotoko got slayed by Accra Lions by 3-0 to throw their league winning hopes in a very huge doubt and coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has accepted that they lacked focus and concentration
The Blue-Blacks really delivered what is undoubtedly their best performance of the ongoing season and this win will definitely boost their survival chances as they season draw near
Gildas Jacob Awoute and Yao Sokpoli scored to hand the Lions a two-goal lead at half-time before David Olubi Akintunde scored later in the second half to wrap up the win.
Speaking after the game, Prosper Narteh, who has come under some pressure recently, wasn't surprised with how their opponents played but added his players didn't look determined and lacked concentration in the game.
“We knew they could play, they could pass, they could go on a counter,” Ogum said post-match. “We had looked at all these things, but then sometimes the players get onto the field and it is a different thing altogether.”
“I think we had a good warm-up. It was just lack of focus. We didn’t cover the spaces, and that led to those two goals,” Ogum added.
Asante Kotoko after the defeat have now dropped from the top to second position with 47 points and will travel to Nations FC in the next round of matches
