Five individuals implicated in the assault of match officials during the Asante Kotoko versus Nations FC Ghana Premier League match on March 24, 2024, have been granted bail by a Kumasi court.

Anthony Twum Barima, Habib Moro, George Aduko (known as 'Adongo'), Baba Iddi, and Yaw Bediako (nicknamed Osebo) appeared before Circuit Court 1, Asokwa, on April 9, 2024. Presiding Judge Obiri Kyere approved bail at GHC 30,000 each, with one surety, following their plea of not guilty to charges of conspiracy and assault.

The arrests stemmed from the violent incident during the game, allegedly involving Asante Kotoko supporters. The accused are set to reconvene in court on May 3, 2024, for Case Management Conference.

The episode has spurred the Ghana Football Association's Safety and Security Committee to heighten measures against hooliganism, with the arrests forming part of broader efforts to tackle this issue tarnishing football matches.
