Accra Lions in a Saturday night football have humbled leaders Aduana Stars by an emphatic 3-0 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in week 30 to get themselves back on winning track.
Coach James Francis went into the game without skipper Dominic Nsobila but had goalkeeper Andrews Owusu in goal, Abass Samari, Awuni, Abdul Bassit Seidu leading the attack to still constitute a strong line up.
On the opposition end, Joseph Addo in post and the captain at the same time as Paa Kwesi Fabin named a strong line up for the game.
The game started well for both teams with no threats as they all stayed in their half to somehow get a clue of each other's approach in the early stages.
On the 28th minute, Baba Salifu Apiiga broke the deadlock for Accra Lions after his free kick deflected the human wall to go past Joseph Addo for the opener.
In the second half, the 'Ogya' lads returned on a higher note in search for the equalizer at all cost, knowing very well how a defeat in the capital will affect their title ambitions.
Despite their constant attacks and series of pressure, Aduana Stars were still struggling to penetrate their way through the host backline.
However, the Blue Blacks scored once again on the 76th minute to double their lead with Evans Botchway getting onto the end of that one.
Six minutes after, Abdul Basit Seidu scored with a header to snatch their third as they continue to run riots over the leaders.
It ended 3-0 after full time who could cause Aduana Stars their ambitions of winning the league.
