Great Olympics exhibited a five-star display to trounce regional rivals Accra Lions FC by an emphatic 3-0 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in GPL match-day 5 fixture on Monday afternoon. 

The 'Dade outfit heading into this game had scored only a goal and looked very determined for a convincing win today as they look to get their season back on track.

Michael Yeboah opened the scoring account of the game in just ten minutes from kickoff after pouncing on a clanger from Baba Apiiga to struck from close range.

Just two minutes on, Michael Yeboah controlled a pass and laid off to Michael Osei whose initial effort was saved but the rebound fell on the path of the latter who tapped into the net to seal his brace and his side's second of the day.

On the 19th minute, the homesters made it 3-0 through Emmanuel Antwi who fired into the net just at the edge of the box after his free kick effort had initially went off the human-wall.

Great Olympics kept on attacking from all angles and had extra chances to score one of which is Emmanuel Antwi's 32nd minute rocket but came off the woodwork.

In the second half, Accra Lions returned looking much more improved and sharp this time as compared to how they started the first half.

Michael Osei was put through with a decent pass, he went round the Lions goalie but his final effort went side net.

Few minutes on, the away side given a free kick at a good position. Baba Apiiga swung a decent one but Abass Samari's header went wide for a goalkick.

Great team build up on the 68th minute mark, fell on the path of Daniel Awuni who shoots but was gathered calmly by Benjamin Asare.

Michael Osei came so close to getting the fourth but his close range strike was saved by Daniel Afful. That was very easy to score than to miss.

It ended 3-0 for Great Olympics who have now climbed up to the top of the league table with 9 points. They have two wins and three draws from their opening five games now.
