Champions Medeama SC nipped on substitute Ebenezer Nkrumah's late goal to pick their first win of the season after edging Bechem United by 1-2 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in an epic GPL week 4 tie.

Both sides paraded a very strong line up heading into the game as they focused on nothing but a victory to get their season back on track.

It was a cautious start for the two sides who were all relaxed in the early stages making it somehow a boring encounter in the opening minutes.

Bechem United finally opened the scoring account on the 27th minute through Cephas Kofi Mantey who struck into the bottom left corner from a close range and that was the only goal produced at half time.

Medeama SC returned on a higher note from the break, unlike their start and began to make some incursions in search for the leveller.

The homesters also looked very compact in defence as they hope to preserve their lead and also have been dominant throughout the game in terms of possession.

On the 63rd minute, Derrick Fordjour dazzled above Aaron Essel to send in a cross at far post but never met any connection as the ball rolled out.

Medeama SC finally levelled up the score on the 74th minute through marksman Jonathan Sowah- who netted his second of the season.

With just five minutes to full time, substitute Ebenezer Nkrumah scored to give the visitors the lead for the first time in the game.

It finished 1-2 for Medeama SC after full time- who have finally secured their first win of the season.
