FC Samartex 1996 defeated Legon Cities by 2:1 in the Ghana Premier League week seventeen fixture to end the first round of the 2022/23 season on a good note.
FC Samartex bounced back to winning ways after two games without a win.
Samartex started the game impressively as the kwot knocking on the doors to open the scoring but Legon Cities failed to opened up to their advances.
Legon Cities cameback into the game to dominate from the twenty-fifth to thirtieth minute but weren't productive in front of goal.
The Timber boys regained their dominance from the 35th minute but the Royals didn't yield to their pressure to end tge first half barren.
On the sixty-third minute, Abubakar Seidu scored a sublime finish, to make it his fifth strike of the season, to hand Samartex the lead after trying to unlock Legon Cities' defence severally in the second half.
Francis Oteng doubled the lead for Samartex with nine minutes to full time to increase Samartex chances of winning.
Kofi Kordzi pulled one back for Legon Cities to give them hopes of, atleast, levelling the scores but failed to find the equaliser.
Samartex are twelfth with fifty-three points, whereas Legon Cities sits fifteenth with twenty points to end the first round.
