The Porcupine Warriors suffered an embarrassing away defeat to Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League match-week 26 fixture on Friday afternoon.
Berekum Chelsea secured a resounding 3-0 home win over Asante Kotoko in the epic clash at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
Chelsea enjoyed majority of the possession in the first half of the game but they failed to make their chances created count, thanks to Ibrahim Danlad for rescuing the visitors from conceding in the first thirty minutes.
The golden opportunity for Asante Kotoko fell for Cameroonian striker George Mfegue but he failed to open the score from a close range on the 13th minute of the game.
Berekum Chelsea exercised their attacking muscles after the break where they displayed a five-star performance to register three goals.
Four minutes after the break, two-goal hero Kalou Ouattara brilliantly head in a cross from Collins Ameyaw to hand Chelsea the opener.
Asante Kotoko woes was compounded after the hour-mark when Ameyaw and Ouattara combined to double the lead for the one-time Ghana Premier League champions.
On the 64th minute, Collins Ameyaw aided Ouattara to end his day with a brace after his cross into the box of Asante Kotoko met the the 21-year-old to extend their lead to 2-0.
Substitute Patrick Kofi Ansu sealed the home victory for Berekum Chelsea after reacting quickly to a rebound after Ibrabim Danlad failed to grab an effort from Yaw Dankwa on the 83rd minute of the game.
Following the result, Berekum Chelsea occupies 8th position with 37 points while Asante Kotoko temporarily lies at 5th place with 39 points after 26 games.
