Hearts of Oak kept their hopes of clinching the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title alive with a pulsating draw with King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
King Faisal continued their impressive form in the Ghana Premier League after the World Cup break with scoreless home draw against Hearts of Oak on Thursday evening.
The much entertaining fixture commenced with Hearts of Oak enjoying majority of the game possession but none of their attempts earned them the opener.
Striker Isaac Mensah came close to open the score on the 6th minute but his strike was calmly saved by goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu.
Three minutes later, the home side also came close through Baba Yahaya but his long range effort went straight into the woodwork.
Hearts of Oak youngster Yaw Amankwah Baafi kept tormenting the backline of King Faisal with lot of inroads for them to deal in the last ten minutes of the first half.
The first department of the game failed to produce any goal despite the goal glaring opportunities which fell for both sides.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak continued to mount pressure on the homesters with the introduction of Linda Mtange and Kwadwo Obeng Junior.
Mtange became the fans' favorite with his skills when he came close to give Hearts of Oak the lead but he was denied by the post on the 80th minute.
Defenders Zakaria Yakubu and Rashid Okine kept the upfront of King Faisal at bay in the last fifteen minutes of the game.
The golden opportunity in the second half fell for King Faisal but Gabriel Osei failed to make a good use of a pass from Baba Yahaya. Substitute Abednego Tetteh's effort in the dying embers was fisted out by Richmond Ayi.
The fixture ended in a 0-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
