Kotoku Royals, who have been relegated, capitalized on their home advantage to secure a victory over Tamale City in the penultimate match of the Ghana Premier League.

The Oda-based club displayed a dominant performance, triumphing over Tamale City with a convincing 4-1 scoreline on Sunday at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The hosts, Kotoku Royals, took the lead just 16 minutes into the game courtesy of Richard Amoah. They extended their advantage in the 21st minute when Francis Andy Kumi found the back of the net. However, Tamale City managed to pull one back before halftime, making the score 2-1.

After the break, Kotoku Royals showcased their superiority and netted two more goals, securing a comfortable victory on their home turf. Francis Andy Kumi completed his brace in the 64th minute, followed by Tahir Mensah sealing the win for the hosts.

Despite the defeat, Tamale City remains one place above the relegation zone, occupying the 15th spot with 42 points. Meanwhile, Kotoku Royals sit at the bottom of the league standings with 26 points after playing 33 matches.

The final round of matches in the Ghana Premier League is scheduled to take place on June 11, 2023, at various venues.
