Premier League newcomers Kotoku Royals woes in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season was deepened by Legon Cities in their match-week nine encounter at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Legon Cities returned to winning ways to secure their fourth victory of the season after inflicting a 3-0 home defeat on Kotoku Royals on Wednesday afternoon.
The opening minutes of the game looked balanced as the early goal glaring opportunity fell for the host but they failed to make it count on the 17th minute of the game.
Legon Cities staged an intense pressure on the back line of Kotoku Royals to open the score before the half-hour mark of the game through Jonah Attuquaye.
On the 28th minute, Black Galaxies winger Jonah Attuquaye brilliantly snatched the opener for Legon Cities to end the first half with a 1-0 lead at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Striker Kofi Kordzi came close on the stroke of halftime to double the score for the visitors but his attempt went off target.
In the second half, Legon Cities enjoyed majority of the game possession to register two additional goals to secure all the three maximum points.
Kordzi doubled the lead for the visitors through a spot-kick awarded to them on the 61st minute of the game before Alex Aso completed their demolition exercise with his strike on the 91st minute.
Legon Cities have moved up to sixth position with 14 points while Kotoku Royals lies at the bottom of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League table with four points after nine matches.
