Nations FC recorded their first-ever victory in the Ghana Premier League after defeating FC Samartex in the match-week two fixture on Sunday afternoon.

The Abrankese based outfit bounced back from Dreams FC defeat to record a 2-0 home win against the Timber Giants at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

 

Coach Kassim Mingle's charges started the game on a good note with an intense pressure on the visitors with an early incursion in the 5th minute which was brilliantly fisted out by goalkeeper Lawrence Ansah.

 

Former Sefwi All Stars FC striker Barimah Baah opened the scoring for the homesters with a superb finish in the 20th minute of the game.

 

Midway of the first half, FC Samartex gained possession with the hopes of getting the equalizer when Ebenezer Ocran and Emmanuel Keyekeh combined to tried their lucks severally but their attempts went wide.

 

The first half ended in a 1-0 win for FC Samartex.

 

Back from the break, Nations FC doubled their lead through Amidou Diarra to secure their maiden win in the Ghana Premier League against FC Samartex.

 

Diarra doubled their lead after a solo run through the defense of FC Samartex to slot the ball firmly into to the back of the net.

 

FC Samartex rejuvenated in the final minutes of the game with the aim of reducing the deficit but their efforts proved futile as it ended in a 2-0 win for Nations FC at the Abrankese.
