Match Week 3 of the Ghana Premier League kicked off this afternoon at the Accra Sports stadium with Accra Lions stunning and condemning Tamale City to their third straight loss of the season, pipping the latter by a lone goal. 
 
Hardworking skipper, Dominic Nsobila - opened the scoring for the home side that ended up being the winner, notching in a non-drop ball from 20 yards to the the delight of the Lions faithfuls' at the 9th minute mark.
 
 
Both sides missed out on the few good scoring chances that came their way in a keenly contested first half that ended in 1-0.

The second half saw a resilient Tamale City side that looked more energetic and hungry for the equalizer but the home side however pinned them down, making sure that their defensive yard is well policed. 
 
 
Accra Lions will hope to continue their fine form on the road away at Dreams FC whilst Tamale City will try to bounce back at home against regional rivals Real Tamale United, all on match day 4 which will be played in October 2 at 15:00 GMT (3pm) at the Aliu Mahama stadium.
