Kwadwo Amoako’s equalizer at the death of the first half saved Medeama from what would have been their fifth defeat this season after nine round of matches, as they battled (1-1) back before half time (45+3’) to cancel Karela’s goal at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park at Anyinase.
The Passioners capitalized on the lackadaisical and witty defending by the Medeama back-line as Isaac Donkor scored the opener in the 24th minute for Karela that saw the ball glide over the fingers of Ivorian-born Boris Mandjui.
Karela, who had the home crowd firmly behind them and were on the hunt for their fourth win after eight outings dazzled in both halves, but were unable to capitalize on their chances, with some being rare, as the Medeama defense held them solidly in check for 90 minutes plus added time.
Karela have moved to the thirteenth spot as they’ve raked in eleven points, while failing to extend their home wins to four as they annexed just a point from a possible three points, while Medeama climbed up eleventh on eleven points, just eight points from reaching the pickings of leaders, Aduana Stars.
