King Faisal were denied a Premier League win at home, and remain in the bottom half of the table in what was a flaming 2-0 defeat to Samartex at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on Sunday afternoon.
The Insha Allah boys appeared invigorated as they started on the front foot. However, Ignatius Osei Fosu’s men nearly took the lead against the run of play as halftime loomed, when Suraj Ibrahim’s cross was cleared off the line by the Timber Giants, ensuring the contest remained goalless at the break.
After failing to see an improvement from King Faisal in the opening stages of the second half, they resulted to a different approach by playing an high tempo game - hungrily hunting profusely for the opener.
King Faisal were forced to succumb to a late Samartex onslaught that saw them conceding two late goals.
Ultimately, the Timber Giants fired two goals at the death (86th, 90+9’) of the match.
The win moves Samartex to the seventh position for the time being, while King Faisal remain in 17th spot after failing to find the net in what would have, at least, been an all way important drawn game.
