The lanky centre-back has been acquired by the Kumasi-based outfit to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2025–25 season's campaign.
Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Accra Lions defender Musa Hamzata on a three-year contract in the ongoing transfer window.
The 22-year-old centre back joins the Porcupine Warriors from Accra Lions, where he made close to 50 appearances in the Ghana Premier League, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Standing at 1.92m, Hamzata adds height, presence, and composure to our back line.
The club's official statement: “Asante Kotoko is pleased to confirm the signing of towering defender Musa Hamzata on a three-year deal, following the successful completion of his medical.”
Hamzata has quickly built a reputation as a solid defender with strong aerial ability and calmness under pressure. His frame and style of play make him a difficult opponent in duels, while his comfort on the ball allows him to contribute in build-up play.
Speaking to Kotoko media, Hamzata expressed his delight: “This is a huge step for me, and I’m grateful for the chance to wear the Kotoko shirt. I know the expectations here are very high, but I’m ready for that challenge.”
“I want to grow as a player, help the team win trophies, and show that I can be one of the best defenders in the league.” he added
