Asante Kotoko's new signing Francis Acquah has likened his playing style to that of Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal star Nuno Mendes, following his official unveiling by the Ghanaian giants.
The 24-year-old left-back completed a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors on Tuesday after an impressive spell with Bechem United, where he was a consistent performer over the past four seasons. During his time with the Hunters, Acquah made 94 Ghana Premier League appearances, establishing himself as one of the league's most reliable defenders.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Acquah confidently drew comparisons to the PSG full-back, saying, “My style of play is like PSG defender Nuno Mendes. I’m more offensive and also defend very well.”
Known for his versatility, Acquah can operate across various positions in the backline. He brings to Kotoko not only defensive solidity but also composure, tactical intelligence, and the ability to initiate attacks with precise passes from the back.
His arrival is a significant boost for Kotoko as they prepare for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season and the CAF Confederation Cup campaign. Acquah is expected to play a key role as the club rebuilds under its new technical direction and targets silverware both domestically and continentally.
