Nations FC tactician Kasim Ocansey Mingle didn't mince words as he placed the blame squarely on his players for their draw against Bibiani Goldstars on matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League.
After the Premier League debutants settled for a tie with the miners at the Dr. Kwame Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon, Mingle expressed his frustration with his team's inability to capitalize on their chances.
In his post-match remarks, Mingle pointed fingers at his players' lack of efficiency in front of goal for the stalemate against Goldstars.
He remarked, “We shouldn’t draw in such a game. We created all the chances which were easier to score than to miss. Blame the players. They played and had the chances but wasted them.”
Despite their relentless efforts in training, particularly focusing on finishing, Mingle lamented the lack of positive outcomes. He emphasized, “70% of our training is based on finishing. I’m disappointed in the players because the chances came to them.”
Nations FC maintains their position as the second team on the Ghana Premier League standings, tallying 45 points after 28 matches. They currently trail log leaders Samartex by seven points.
Looking ahead, the Abrankese-based club is gearing up for a challenging fixture as they prepare to face Karela United in matchday 29 of the Ghana Premier League this coming weekend.
