Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the appointment of Bosnian tactician Nebojsa Kapor as the club's new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season's campaign.
The 38-year-old has joined the Phobians on a two-year deal after leaving his job as youth coach at Ugandan side SC Villa last month. He became the frontrunner to lead Hearts of Oak after the sacking of Didi Dramani and his technical team after the end of the 2025–26 season.
Hearts of Oak announced the arrival of Kapor on Saturday, July 25, follows what the club said was an extensive recruitment process. Kapor has signed a two-year contract and becomes the first major technical appointment ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club's official statement reads: "The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC announces the appointment of Mr. Nebojsa Kapor as Head Coach, following an extensive recruitment process to restore the Club to domestic and continental prominence. The contract is for a 2-year period." The club highlighted Kapor's familiarity with Ghanaian football as one of the key reasons behind his appointment."

During his spell with Medeama, he earned praise for implementing an organised, attacking style of play while promoting young talents."
His knowledge of the local game is expected to ease his transition into one of Ghana's biggest clubs in the upcoming season.
Hearts of believe the Kapor's football philosophy fits perfectly with the club's long-term ambitions.
"Known for building competitive, attacking teams grounded in discipline and youth development, his approach aligns closely with the Board's long-term vision for the Club." The Phobians also confirmed that more appointments will be announced as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Kapor is no stranger to Ghanaian football, having previously managed Tema Youth, Bechem United and Medeama SC. His experience in the Ghana Premier League, combined with his reputation for developing young players and implementing an attacking style of play, played a key role in his appointment.
