Berekum Chelsea defender, Seidu Mohammed is very elated for finally settling down in the Ghanaian topflight and has opened on his experience as he hopes to improve going forward

Famously known as 'Alligator', joined the Bibires two seasons ago from Kumasi-based fold Ebony FC after a impressive run in the Ashanti Regional Division 2 Championship

The 21-year-old struggled in the early stages of his stay but has redeemed himself this season with consistent top-class performances making him one of the supporters favourite at the Golden City Park

In an exclusive interview with Kickgh.com, the lanky center-back dug deep into why he struggled as he feels it was due to lack of playing time and is very excited he's been able to deliver when handed the opportunity.

"I came to meet about almost six to seven center-backs so I couldn't get much playing time but after the appointment of new coach I decided to prove myself to him during preseason to command starting spot and I was able to do that due to hard work.

"Focus and hardwork got me to this level, I spoke to the coach and I told myself I have to be in the line up and when I was giving the platform I was able to perform and I'm impressed with my performance. I did three assists in the FA Cup and two in the league."

"Initially there were doubts if I can play in the topflight because I was coming from a division 2 club but I was ready because I had faced most of the Premier players."

He furthered on by disclosing his best and toughest games he's played last season and added no striker gave him a difficult time last season

"My toughest game that I played was away at Nations FC where we won by 1-0 at away and my best was against Young Apostles. No striker made me suffer last season."

Seidu Mohammed made 28 league appearances in the just-ended 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season
