Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of defensive midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo on a three-year deal, after exchanging final documents with FC Samartex.

The 21-year-old has joined the Porcupine Warriors from FC Samartex until the summer of 2028 for an undisclosed fee. He previously played for Real Tamale United.

In just two seasons in the Ghana Premier League, he has made over 60 appearances, showing consistency and maturity well beyond his age.

Adabo is a tough, intelligent midfielder who protects the back line with strong positional discipline. He reads the game well, tackles cleanly, recycles possession quickly, and keeps things calm in midfield.

His timing, awareness, and ability to win second balls are key traits that strengthen the spine of any team.

“There were a few offers, including some from outside,” Adabo said when speaking with Kotoko Media.

“But I believe playing for Asante Kotoko puts me in the best place to grow and earn a call- up to the Black Stars. This is a big step for me, and I’m confident it’s the right one for my career.”

Asante Kotoko have already announced the signing of Aziz Haruna Dari, Francis Acquah, Zackaria Fuseini, Hubert Gyau, Johnson Owusu Oppong, Joseph Amoah, and Seth Kwadwo.

The team has commenced pre-season and they are scheduled for fly to South Africa to face Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup on July 26, 2025.
