Ghana Premier League side Basake Holy Stars have appointed Johnson Smith as head coach after the exit of previous coach Evans Adotey just recently.
He steps in highly recommended but the details of his move wasn’t revealed. Official club statement reads;
“Basake Holy Stars warmly welcomes Johnson Smith to our technical team. His expertise and experience will be an asset to our club. We look forward to achieving more together.”
Evans Adotey took over on a three-year deal from Abdulai Gazale but has really struggled to lift the team to the highest level having won just one game, three draws and six loses from their opening ten league games of the ongoing season.
With just six points to their name, The ‘Green and Blacks’ outfit currently find themselves in the relegation zone (17th with 6 points), which has left the club hierarchy and fans frustrated.
Johnson Smith, who was recently sacked as Nations FC assistant, will be looking forward to patching all cracks and rise the team back to winning path and will face his former side in his opening game this weekend.
