Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have announced the appointment of Evans Adotey as the club's new technical director.

Adotey is joining the Yellow and Mauves family to led the technical team after the exit of young tactician Umar Rabi. Rabi tendered his resignation to leave the two-time FA Cup champions earlier this month.

The club's official statement reads “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Augustine Evans Adotey as the Club’s Technical Director till the end of the season”

The 58-year-old trainer has been unattached after ending his stay at Premier League outfit Karela United as head coach in 2021.

Adotey led Medeama SC as interim coach to clinch their first-ever FA Cup in 2013 and aided them to finish fourth on the Ghana Premier League log during the 2012/13 season's campaign.

He was later served as Medeama SC technical director from 2015 to 2017.

During his four-year period with the Tarkwa based club as interim head coach, assistant coach and technical director, he helped the club to win two Ghanaian FA Cup in 2013 and 2015 and the Ghana Super Cup in 2017.

Adotey, who was Black Maidens coach from 2014 to 2019, lead the female national U17 team to three consecutive quarter-final place in three FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup campaigns.

He was the assistant coach of the Ghana male U20 team that won the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
