Ghana Premier League new-boys Young Apostles FC have confirmed the appointment of veteran tactician Joseph Asare Bediako as their head coach ahead of their maiden season's campaign.

The 65-year-old, who has previously worked with Ghanaian clubs Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea and Bamboutos FC in Cameroon, has been named by the Wenchi-based outfit ahead of the upcoming season.

His appointment is a major boost for Young Apostles, who secured a historic promotion to the Premier League after defeating Techiman Heroes FC in the Division One League Zone one playoff final.

According to club's official statement, Abubakar Adams, who led the team to promotion, will serve as Bediako's assistant coach, providing continuity and familiarity.

"We are thrilled to welcome Asare Bediako to our team," a club statement said.

"His passion, knowledge, and leadership qualities make him the ideal candidate to lead our team in the Ghana Premier League.

"We have no doubt that he will help us achieve our goals and make a positive impact in the league."

Young Apostles are expected to commence their 2024–25 pre-season later this month.

This development comes as a major boost to Young Apostles ahead of their maiden season in the and are hoping to establish themselves as a mainstay in the topflight.
