Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has explained why his side rely on set pieces for goals in recent matches they have played and sees it as a very good trend in football.

The ‘Phobians’ finally ended their three-game winless run with a precious 1-0 win over Vision FC in a very close match-day 12 clash of the Ghana Premier League.

Mawuli Wayo’s close range header in the dying embers of the first half made the difference and that marked his third in the league so far

In a post-match interview, the experienced trainer says they use set pieces to score if they find themselves in a very difficult situation and added they should even scored more against Vision.

“Our trump card is also working on the set pieces because the set pieces game has become very fundamental in the modern trends, and so when the game becomes so tight, you can rely on set pieces to open up," the former Black Stars assistant coach said.

“I think that we should have scored even more than two from our set-piece play.”

Hearts of Oak have dropped to the sixth position with 21 points and will travel to Karela United next.
