Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, says the Parliament of Ghana have to do something about match fixing in the Ghana Premier league (GPL).

Match fixing has been the talking point on the Ghana Premier league after several allegations and rumours.

 
Top football administrators Alhaji Akambi and Albert Commey have confirmed the allegations of match fixing.
 
The Ghana football Association have fined and demoted GPL side, Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies into the Division Two after they were found guilty of match fixing.
 
The member of Parliament for the people of Suame has insisted that match fixing is destroying the Ghana Premier league.
 
Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says the Parliament of Ghana have to intervene to help solve match fixing canker in the GPL.
 
"If care is not taken, the game will be destroyed completely in the future," he told Akoma FM.
 
"I believe if we will allow (betting) in our games, then there should be strict laws or measures that will help us to regulate it properly so we don't abuse or destroy the game entirely.
 
"I think parliament will and have to do something about it," he admitted.
