Abdul Fatawu Safiu has reportedly finalized his return to Asante Kotoko as preparations for the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League get underway.
On January 12, 2024, at precisely 9:20 am, Safiu successfully underwent a medical examination, marking a significant step in his reunion with Kotoko.
The medical procedures were completed following the signing of a two-year deal, officially solidifying Safiu's commitment to the Porcupines.
Anticipating a joyful return to his family, Safiu is currently on his way to Techiman, with plans to head back to Kumasi over the weekend, where he will commence training with the Porcupines.
Having been without a club since parting ways with Iraqi side Al-Sinaa SC in June 2023, the 29-year-old forward brings his experience and goal-scoring prowess back to Kotoko.
During his previous tenure with the club, Safiu showcased his skills by contributing three goals and two assists in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
His notable 10-goal tally played a crucial role in Kotoko's triumph in the Special Competition Tier 1.
