Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have opened talks with former midfielder Abdul Fatawu Safiu for a possible return and are willing to get things done and official before the second window closes.
The 29-year-old first joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2018 and was really instrumental in coach CK Akonnor's squad that made it to money zone of the CAF Confederations Cup in 2019.
His consistent impressive performances throughout that season earned him a move to Sweden where he joined Trelleborgs FF for two years before later spending a short time at Trollhättan.
His last spell was with Iraqi topflight side Al Sinaa SC but has been unattached since the commencement of the 2023/24 football season.
Reports from a reliable source are that, the mercurial midfielder is in advance negotiations with the Reds and is most likely to rejoin them should both parties reach an agreement.
Kotoko are also hoping to complete the signing of Nsoatreman FC right-back Emmanuel Kotei before the second round begins.
