Medeama SC current captain, Vincent Atinga is most likely to leave the club in the coming weeks, according to speculations in the local media.
The 29 year old joined the Mauves and Yellows about two seasons ago and has been outstanding and by far the best defender and one of the fans favourite in Tarkwa.
Once again, he enjoyed another stellar season with 11 goals as a center-back and played an instrumental role in helping Medeama SC win the Ghana Premier League for the first in their history.
He is the defender with the most goals in the league for the past two campaigns, having netted 16 times within that period with most of them coming from spot-kicks and has never missed any since donning the mauve and yellow shirt.
Strange reports coming in this morning is that, Atinga has less than a month left in his contract and is still reluctant in extending which means he will become a free agent very soon as it stands.
The Ghanaian champions definitely will continue to push for extension as they look to establish a formidable side to fare well in their Africa campaign and also defend their title.
The stalwart guardsman was really solid in defence over the weekend and saw a full time action in their narrow 1-0 win over Nigerian side Remo Stars FC in the first of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round.
They will travel to Ikenne in the Ogun State for the return encounter on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
