The Pride of the North gaffer is hoping his depleted squad will down the Phobians in their upcoming Ghanaian top-flight season opener at their favourite home grounds come tomorrow
Real Tamale United FC manager Shilla Alhassan Abdulai is eyeing for Heart of Oak scalp in their Ghana Premier League season opener at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Friday.
The Ghanaian superpowers are entering into the new campaign on the back of a strong pre-season after scoring 35 and conceding 5 in eight friendly games during the off-season.
Given this dreadful outings, the Tamale-based club boss is defiant his charges together with their newly-recruited players will give their counterparts a stiff test as they are considered to be underdogs going into the clash that promises to be an exciting and entertaining one for the 2023/24 season opener.
"You know people see RTU as underdogs and it’s true they are underdogs because of the number of players that have exited the club. About 85% of the players have left the club, and we are left with 15%. And I am praying the 15% left together with the new signings can beat Hearts of Oak at Tamale,'' Abdulai said ahead of the match.
The Aliu Mahama Stadium campaigners will hope to better their position this time around after escaping relegation scare at the end of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 pm Local Time.
