Nations FC coach Kassim Mingle has said FC Samartex 1996 has been the toughest opponent he has so far come across this season.
The Timber Giants secured qualification to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after coming up as winners of the 2021/22 Division One Zone Two After 26 years of the club’s existence
FC Samartex achieved that feat after ascending to the top of the table with 68 points.
The current GPL leaders have clashed with the likes of Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars and Medeama SC but Mingle cannot write-off Samartex.
“FC Samartex is the toughest opponent I have faced so far. Our game in Samreboi was very tough. It was an end-to-end affair. We were on our toes throughout the 90 minutes. Both teams were trying their best to win and the competition was very high. I will say Samartex is my toughest opponent now,” he told Richmond K. Entsie on Accra-based Mothers FM.
Nations FC have won all their last two games against the Samreboi based side, winning 2-0 in the first leg before snatching a 1-0 win in Samreboi.
With 11 wins, four draws, and seven losses in their maiden top tier season, the former Bechem United coach is determined to maintain their energy.
