Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Martin Koopman has explained his team's uneven performance in their 1-1 match-week nine drawn game against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Yes, the Phobians escaped the wrath of Karela as their in-form whizkid Hamza Issah scored the equaliser in the 40th minute as they left Tamale with a point.
On the flip side, there was no way Koopman wasn't going to explain his most significant concern why the fire his boys used during their matchround eight fixture to finish off Medeama SC wasn't brought to bear against Karela as they sat aloof to consider first.
"It was a challenging match for both teams, and we didn't begin strongly, finding ourselves 1-0 down. However, I believe that in the second half, we improved and displayed a greater fighting spirit," Koopman stated.
"You can play attractive football, but you must also exhibit that fighting spirit. The second half showed improvement, resulting in a 1-1 draw," he added.
Hearts of Oak will next face Hearts of Lions in match-week 10 fixture of the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign at the Hohoe Sports Stadium.
