Asante Kotoko will be play Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League match-week eleven encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with seven key players, the club has announced.
Coach Seydou Zerbo's side has been handed a major blow ahead of the all-important fixture following the unavailability of the seven players due to injuries and suspension.
Four players namely John Tedeku, Stephen Amankona, Georges Mfegue Omgba and Isaac Oppong who missed their last weekend's trip to Dormaa for Aduana Stars will be unavailable for Sunday's game against Great Olympics.
The club in an official has announced that the four above-mentioned players are still nursing various injuries in the treatment room.
Winger Dickson Afoakwa is the latest casualty of the Porcupine Warriors after picking a foot injury in their away draw with Aduana Stars in Dormaa last weekend.
The club's official statement reads “Our safest pair of hands Danlad Ibrahim, Defender Sheriff Mohammed, and Augustine Agyapong are away on international duty”
“Dickson Afoakwa, Isaac Oppong , Georges Mfegue , Stephen Amankona and John Tedeku, are on the injury list while our utility player Justice Blay and Nicholas Mensah are both ruled out through suspension.”
Duo Nicholas Mensah and Justice Blay have been ruled out of Great Olympics game due to suspension of accumulated yellow cards.
Asante Kotoko will be hoping for a positive result against Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Sports to keep their hopes of defending the Ghana Premier League title alive.
Asante Kotoko currently occupies second place with 18 points after ten games in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
