Here at kickgh, we love the gas. We talk football, we throw opinions out there and we love to generate debate. Some people agree with what is said, some people hate what they hear an read, some people find it funny and some people go out of their minds with incandescent rage.

But that's all part of being a football fan- we are a community brought together by the love of this great game, and the special thing is that we all want to have our say. Now, we have sold the concept of talking football to you, let's get another hot topic on. Shall we?

It has been an eventful 2023/2024 season. With few games left to end the season, there is no clear winner and no one seem to know the clubs to be relegated.

Messers Hamza Issah, Rakak Simpson, Kamaradini Mamudu,Stephen Amakona, Emmanuel Antwi have made headlines and gossip columns in the country, while plenty of new names have been added to the football hipster glossary of players to casually throw into the conversation down the pitch.

Here is a look at kickgh young players of the season.

Name: Joseph Amoah

Age    : 19

Position: Left-back

Club: Legon Cities

Amoah is your archetypal modern full-back. Comfortable on the ball, excellent going forward, and tactically disciplined. Oh and he’s got a bunch of pace to boot.

Likened to Scotland and Liverpool left-back, Andrew Robertson. At least on the pitch. When he is on the pitch Amoah, a quiet and reserved individual by and large, lets his play do the talking.

He’s brilliant with the ball at his feet and loves to bomb up from left-back, either down the flank or even into the middle at times - hardly a surprise from a player who has been schooled in the Benab FC setup.

He forces turnovers high up the field before inching forwards into the opponent’s half. He likes to combine with his left winger/left-back, progressing down the line with his 1-2s and transitions, rather than looking to beat players with skill or pace.

Perhaps his biggest strength is his game intelligence. Incredibly mature and composed as a leader, he has good communication and organising skills which ensure that defensive lapses do not occur.

In 27 appearances for the Royals across all competitions, he has scored two goals and provided nine assists.

Name: Foster Apertogbor

Age    : 16

Position: Winger

Club: Nsoatreman FC

Electric. That is the word best used to describe Foster Apertogbor. Maxwell Konadu is clearly a fan and he has all the talent in the world. It’s rare to find a combination of his pace, trickery, awareness and power, it’s what immediately made the Nsoatreman faithful fall in love with him. There is still work to be done but everything he has shown in his debut season in Ghana's elite division suggests he can go right to the very top.

He is a player with a special gift and finesse, speed paired with technique and skills- at just 16. With such a display, one can easily tell that the lad is destined for greatness.

His movement is another highlight of his, using this surge in behind with superbly timed runs and find space infield. He’s noted for his sublime dribbling abilities and strength despite his age.

His crossing is also a joy to watch, in particular the way he gets a seemingly absurd amount of whip.

Name: Dominic Amponsah

Age : 18

Position: Forward

Club: Accra Lions

An industrious forward with a penchant of scoring and creating chances. Amponsah has flourished for Ibrahim Tanko's side in his maiden season in Ghana's top-flight.

The 18-year-old is a gem who glides across the pitch whenever he is running with the ball, but his close control means he is always available to find a teammate at the precise perfect moment he needs to.

Amponsah has learnt to stamp his influence on a game, and his performances can truly determine whether Accra Lions pick up a point or three.

With his devasting speed across the ground, his ingenuity to pull apart any defence, and a newly-found lethal eye for goal, there's little that this young man can't do.

He has so far scored four goals, registered three assists in 22 games for Accra Lions across all competitions in the ongoing season.

Name: Blessing Asuman Dankwa

Age    : 18

Position:Winger

Club: Accra Lions

He's got all the makings of an elite winger. He is a relentless winger who often creates chances for himself thanks to his work rate and defensive effort.

He's lightening quick and emanates elegance and grace every time he touches the ball. Dankwa epitomises modern-day wing play. He inverts off the left so he can wreak havoc in a more central zones, but he also boasts tye speed and trickery to beat his man on the outside.

His two-footedness adds to his mystique in possession. He has been directly involved in 5 games in 11 games for the Accra club, scoring four goals and recording one assist.

Name: Kwabena Boateng

Age    : 18

Position: Centre-forward

Club: Legon Cities

The Legon Cities attacker has been nothing short of a revelation this campaign. With his many sterling performances in his cluster of appearances for the Accra-based club, so far there’s been much to admire about the chap.

The young attacker is a good dribbler and outwits his markers with ease. He can play as a number 10 or a false 9. He is renowned for his clever movement, where he drifts into pockets of space from a false 9 role to create angles for teammates. His intelligence with space and eye for a pass also makes him an attractive option playing behind a striker.

He has scored five goals and has registered one assist for the Royals this season.
