Swiss tactician Fritz Markus Schmid has expressed his excitement after being appointed head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, describing the role as both an honour and a major responsibility.

The former Tottenham Hotspur assistant coach was officially unveiled as head coach of the defending Ghana Premier League champions on Monday, December 22, marking a significant new chapter in his coaching career.

Speaking to Gold Stars TV ahead of his first league assignment against Dreams FC, Schmid said the opportunity to lead the Bibiani-based club at the highest level of Ghanaian football was one he embraced with great enthusiasm.

“I’m very excited to be here. Bibiani Gold Stars gives me the opportunity to coach in the highest league in Ghana football,” Schmid said.
“To take over the defending champions in the Ghana Premier League is a big honour, but also a very exciting challenge and responsibility. I’m looking forward to working with the team.”

Schmid will take charge of his first Ghana Premier League match when Gold Stars face Dreams FC, and the Swiss coach will be keen to begin his tenure with a positive result as he sets the tone for his reign at the club.
