Hearts of Oak board chairman, Togbe Afede XIV is said to have held talks with Annor Walker after been given the permission to talk to the current head coach of FC Samartex, about becoming their new head coach.
Walker's contract has a variable release clause built into it, which would reportedly cost Hearts of Oak to meet.
The 62-year-old Walker has emerged as one of the most respected coaches in the Ghana Premier League, for engineering a formidable and clear attacking vision of football despite the limited resources available to him, and has often been the first name linked with any major vacancy in the local terrain.
Kickgh.com checks have it that, the experienced tactician is said to be open to the idea of upgrading his office to this fancy Rainbow fold.
In past weeks, quite a number of bigshot gaffers have been linked with the vacant job at Hearts, such as Ernst Middendorp, Slavko Matić, Prosper Nartey Ogum, and Karela United FC coach Bismark Kobby Mensah.
Meanwhile, majority shareholder of the club Togbe Afede XIV on Wednesday held talks with the Black Galaxies coach in Accra.
Our sources further revealed that the playing body is ready to work with the former Great Olympics, Berekum Chelsea and Nania FC trainer.
The meeting has been scheduled to continue today (Thursday) with the top hierarchy of the Phobians, who are hunched on buying Walker out of Samartex contract.
Walker led the Black Galaxies to secure qualification to the 2023 CHAN tournament.
In the meantime, coach David Ocloo is leading training and will be in the dugout since the club have a game coming up on Sunday against Malian side Real Bamako in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
