As Nations FC braces for a showdown against regional rivals Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium, forward Richard Danso exudes confidence in his team's ability to secure victory despite the challenging task of playing away.
Set for matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League campaign on Sunday, March 24, 2024, Nations FC, based in Abrankese, aims to upset Kotoko on their home turf.
Despite facing the Porcupine Warriors at their stronghold, Danso believes Nations FC can capitalize on their impressive debut season form.
Currently occupying the second position on the league standings with 37 points, Nations FC has emerged as a formidable force, trailing just two points behind log leaders Samartex. In contrast, Asante Kotoko seeks to regain momentum after a turbulent season marked by a slip from third to eighth place.
Reflecting on their previous encounter, which ended in a 2-2 draw at home, Danso expressed optimism about their chances at the Baba Yara Stadium. He emphasized the team's mental and physical readiness for the upcoming clash, affirming their determination to secure at least a point.
“We played out a 2-2 draw with Kotoko on home turf in the first leg but it could be that we can go to Baba Yara and beat them. We are mentally and physically ready for the game on Sunday. we go and pick a point over there, defeat is out of the context”
Danso called for support from their fans, stressing the importance of their backing in boosting morale and motivation ahead of the crucial fixture.
“I will entreat our fans to rally behind us ahead of this crucial game” he said.
