Accra Lions' head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, expressed his disappointment on Monday evening after his team's 3-0 loss to Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League.
In a Round 5 encounter of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Olympics scored three goals within the first 20 minutes, securing a well-deserved victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
During his post-match interview, Coach Ibrahim Tanko of Accra Lions acknowledged that his team's performance was subpar.
While he attributed some of the issues to mistakes, he admitted that Great Olympics played effectively and deserved the win.
"Our performance was very poor. We had a terrible first half, and with two mistakes, we gave them the game. It's very painful, but they deserved to win," said Coach Ibrahim Tanko.
He also expressed concern about his team's defense and recognized the need for more training in that area. Nonetheless, he remained confident that Accra Lions would rebound and return to winning ways in the next matchday.
“I’m very worried about our defense but I mean I know we have to train for it. We have to keep on training for it and hope everything will be fine. Regardless, as I said Olympics deserved the win.”
