Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo has declared his side ready to secure a third consecutive win over rivals Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Democracy Cup, set to take place on Wednesday, July 17th, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ocloo expressed confidence in his team's ability to overcome Hearts, stating, "We accepted to participate in the Democracy Cup because it's a laudable initiative. We get rid of a lot of players at the end of the season but we have able players to compete Hearts of Oak."
He added, "Training was good and I think we are ready to silence Hearts of Oak. We've beaten them twice and we are ready to give them their third defeat against us."
Kotoko have dominated recent encounters with Hearts, winning both league matches in the 2023/24 season. The upcoming match promises to be another thrilling chapter in the storied rivalry between the two clubs.
A pre-match friendly between parliamentarians and former Black Stars players will precede the main event, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already highly anticipated encounter.
With Kotoko's confidence and momentum on their side, it will be interesting to see if they can continue their winning streak against their bitter rivals.
