Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman has made a shocking statement about the team's scoring inability in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians have scored only one goal — against Nsoatreman FC in match-week two — after four league matches in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season's campaign.
The Dutch trainer has attributed the lack of goal scoring at Hearts of Oak to the absence of a prolific striker despite the availability of Kashala Wanet Ramos, Albert Eonde and Kwadwo Obeng Junior.
He made the shocking revelations when questioned about substituting Congolese striker Kashala Wanet Ramos in Hearts of Oak scoreless draw with Dreams FC on Sunday.
Koopman said in an interview with StarTimes that Kashala Ramos was replaced by young attacker Hamza Issah because he performed poorly upfront.
“We have no striker. I tell you again, we’ve got no striker. Issah [Kuka] has gone abroad, so we have no striker. I tell them every time,” Koopman said
“Do you think Kashala was good when playing? No, he was not good. Hamza Issah is young; he is a fighter, and that was the next option.”
Hearts of Oak have commenced the 2023/24 season on a bad note, amassing only four points from four matches in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
