Accra Lions' head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, remains optimistic that his team will regain their form soon.

Six games into the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, the capital-based club has accumulated just five points out of a possible 18.

In a Friday afternoon encounter, Accra Lions aimed to break a four-game winless streak but ended up suffering a 3-1 defeat to Real Tamale United.

Following the match, Coach Ibrahim Tanko expressed his disappointment regarding his team's struggle to secure victories. Nonetheless, he maintains faith that Accra Lions will persist in their hard work to reverse their fortunes.

"It’s very unfortunate for us. We have played three games here and zero points. That is very bad for us. But we are a young team and we have to keep on working and hope that we find a win soon.

“We are a young team. We have to continue working and definitely better times will come. I will talk to the players, we will watch the videos, and correct our mistakes. That’s the best way to go,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said.

Accra Lions' upcoming match will take them away from home to face Bofoakwa Tano.
