Asante Kotoko announced midfielder Prince Badu as thwie first capture of the second transfer window and head coach Abdul Karim Zito feels very impressed as he believes it will strengthen them for the second phase.
The Porcupine Warriors have secured the signature of the workaholic midfielder on a three-year deal which will keep him in Kumasi until 2029.
Badu will wear the jersey no.44 as he begins his journey with the Reds and is expected to commence training with his new teammates next week and hit the grounds running as quick as possible.
Despite having options in midfield like Hilary Adabo, Seth Kwadwo, Hubert Gyau etc, coach Karim Zito says they needed an extra holding to help improve their squad depth and also stablilize their midfield.
“We felt it was very important to strengthen the defensive midfield area. At the moment, we have only one natural defensive midfielder, and we also have to carefully manage the minutes of Lawson Manu, who is still a young player. Prince gives us the balance we need.
"He understands the league, he’s tactically disciplined, and he will help us maintain intensity and stability in midfield over the remainder of the season and the next few years,” Karim Zito told AKSC Media.
Prince Badu who has spent over the last two-and-a-half seasons at Nations FC, made close to half a century of league appearances for the Abrankese based outfit before the transfer.
