Medeama SC defender, Vincent Atinga netted his tenth goal of the season against Bechem United over the weekend in a crucial encounter of which they won by 2-0 at the Akoon Park in GPL match-week 30.
James Sowah opened the scoring account last Monday afternoon before the stalwart guardsman followed up with a towering header to seal the win.
The ex- Hearts of Oak defender has been really outstanding throughout the season and unusually is now part of the highest scorers in the league so far despite being a center-back.
The win has enhanced Medeama's chances of winning the league as they have closed up on leaders Aduana Stars with only two points separating them at the moment.
In a post-match interview with StarTimes, Vincent Atinga stated hard work and determination led them to that precious win as they still having their sights on winning the league.
"We were determined to win this game and we made it. We knew how important the game was for us. With determination and hard work we were able to pick the three points and now second on the table."
The Mauves and Yellows will travel to in the next round of matches.
