Nations FC head coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has expressed determination to lead his side to victory when they face Samartex 1996 in a Ghana Premier League Week 3 encounter on Sunday.

The Abrankese-based side will host the former champions at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, aiming to bounce back from their narrow defeat to Aduana FC. Samartex, meanwhile, are still chasing their first win of the season after two successive draws.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Mingle insisted his players are focused on nothing less than maximum points.

“We exhibited a good performance against Aduana FC but we lost. As we return home to face Samartex, we definitely have to work hard and take the three maximum points at stake,” he said.

The former Bechem United boss, however, admitted the task will not be easy, acknowledging the threat Samartex poses despite their winless start.

“It is not going to be easy for us, but we are going to work for it. Samartex have not won any game this season and will approach this game as wounded lions. We have to double our effort to make sure we get all the points in the game.”

Nations FC currently sit sixth on the table with three points, while Samartex occupy 11th position with two points from back-to-back draws.
