Medeama Sporting Club goalkeeper Felix Kyei has set his sights on leading the club to Ghana Premier League glory in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
The Tarkwa-based side endured a difficult start to last season, struggling for consistency in the first half of the campaign before eventually finishing 8th on the table with 50 points from 34 matches. Despite the setback, Kyei believes the lessons learned will fuel their ambition this year.
Speaking in an interview with Medi TV, the 25-year-old shot-stopper emphasized that the team has undergone intense preparations and is fully committed to challenging for the title.
“We have been waiting, and the league is now starting. We have prepared well, and we want to win the Ghana Premier League this season. We need the fans to get behind us, and we will do our best to win the league,” Kyei stated.
The goalkeeper, regarded as one of the most reliable in the domestic league, also called on Medeama supporters to rally behind the team as they aim to replicate their 2022/23 title-winning campaign.
Medeama will kick off their season with a tricky away fixture against newly-promoted Young Apostles on Sunday, September 14. The match is scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park, a venue known for its intensity and passionate atmosphere.
Kyei’s leadership and consistency will be crucial as the Mauve and Yellow begin their quest to reclaim domestic supremacy and secure a return to continental football.
