Nsoatreman FC head coach, Mohammed Gargo has fumed at the penalty awarded to Kotoko against his side in their midweek action and added it sometimes discourages them from delving into the game.
The 'Efiri Tete Amanaso' outfit really gave a good account of themselves but couldn't stand the firing power of the champions who humbled them by 2-1 in outstanding GPL week 1 fixture last Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Stephen Amankona opened the scoring account on the 12th minute from the host from a spot-kick before Isaac Oppong doubled the lead in the early stages of the second half with a cool finish. Phillip Osei reduced the deficit with a towering header.
Reacting to their first defeat in the topflight, the experience gaffer has expressed his displeasure over the penalty given to Kotoko and believes the incident was too soft to warrant that. He said;
"I was little bit surprised by the character shown by these boys today."
“Because seeing the condition of the pitch, we couldn’t get to maneuver our way through in the first half but in the second half we were able to push a little bit harder."
“For me these things that happen all the time that a penalty has to be given to a whole team because they are playing home, I disagree to that."
“They we’re running after the ball, shoulder to shoulder, the guy did not stick his hand out to push the guy but why the penalty?"
“These are the things that sometimes demoralize some of us who are here and willing to give back to football. Sometimes it is not fare but you cannot speak much."
