Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwadwo Poku, popularly known as ‘Mahala,’ has openly criticised the current squad, urging them to take full responsibility and deliver results ahead of the much-anticipated Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.

Poku’s comments come at a time when the Porcupine Warriors are under intense scrutiny following inconsistent performances and the recent departure of head coach Karim Zito. According to the former forward, the focus should now shift entirely to the players, who must rise to the occasion and restore the club’s pride.

He expressed disappointment over what he sees as a loss of dominance, claiming Kotoko no longer command the fear and respect they once did from opponents. In a strongly worded remark, Poku insisted the players must give everything on the pitch and prove their worth in Sunday’s crucial encounter.

Poku stated, “Coach Zito is out. Focus should now be on the players. They must deliver at all costs. It's funny; Kotoko doesn't intimidate any club lately. If they fail to deliver on Sunday, they should be detained at the stadium to learn a lesson.”

Sunday’s eagerly awaited showdown is set to kick off at 17:00 GMT.
