Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his side has to improve on their abysmal performance in their away loss to Heart of Lions in the upcoming FA Cup game this weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors after a 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions in Ghana Premier League, are hoping to turn things around when they welcome Aduana FC to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi for the FA Cup game in the round of 16 on Saturday, Ferbuary 7, 2026.
Kotoko are defending champions of the FA Cup but they have largely struggled this season and Zito is hoping the club can use the FA Cup to get back on track in the 2025/26 season's campaign.
“I told them-my players-we don’t have any excuse against Aduana. We should do the amendment and improve on the match we played against Heart of Lions.” Zito said.
“We have to change the mindset, we have to put it behind and then come out and fight to prove that we are really the defending champions”
Asante Kotoko will host their sworn-rivals Hearts of Oak after the FA Cup game against Aduana FC.
