Watford FC legend Troy Deeney believes Sadio Mane was more effective than Mohammed Salah during their stint with Liverpool.
Mane and Salah played together at Liverpool for years, winning several laurels with the Reds.
The duo were instrumental when Liverpool clinched the Premier League title to end their drought in the top-flight and also won the Champions League title.
“He (Salah) is a fantastic winger, his goalscoring numbers are unbelievable, and he has achieved some really amazing things at Liverpool. But world-class? No.”
“I had a lot of defeats with Watford when Salah was amazing for Liverpool,” he added of his own experience. “But when we prepared to play them, it wasn’t like we had to stop Salah to win.
“It was a lot harder when they also had Sadio Mane, who, in my opinion, was more effective during that period than Salah.” He said as reported by Mirror.
Sadio Mane currently plies his trade for Saudi Arabia powerhouse Al Nasr whiles Mohammed Salah is still at Liverpool.
