Ghana and Switzerland will wrap up their World Cup preparations with a friendly against each other on Thursday morning at the Baniyas Club Stadium.
Both countries are currently in Dubai for quick acclimatization to the weather which is similar to that of Qatar to get them well gelled for the Mundial, and will anticipate a stiffer opposition from each other although they wouldn't want any injuries to be deduced from the game.
The Black Stars managed to top their group ahead of South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe in the first phase of the qualifiers before edging out sworn rivals and West African neighbours Nigeria in the playoffs after a catastrophic AFCON campaign early this year.
The four time African champions set off their AFCON 2023 qualifying campaign ablaze with an emphatic 3-0 win over Madagascar before sharing spoils with Central African Republic.
In the last international friendly, Ghana lost to five time world champions Brazil but redeemed themselves with a narrow win over lower-ranked Nicaragua in Spain.
The Red Crosses on the other hand, also finished winners of their group to make it to their twelve World Cup campaign, qualifying over European champions Italy. They recorded five wins and three draws with no defeat in the eight matches played.
Just recently in the UEFA Nations League, they failed to advance from the group but the precious wins over Czech Republic and Spain will definitely serve as a source motivation to them heading into the World Cup.
