Lamine Yamal is a 16 year old winger who represents the Spanish national team at the international stage and plays for the Catalan side FC Barcelona in Spain with his parents from Africa.
Biography
Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana was born to parents from Africa on 13th July, 2007 in Spain. His Moroccan father is called Mounir Nasraoui whereas his mother who is from Equatorial Guinea in Western Africa is called Sheila Ebana. There is no report on the the teenager in a relationship and reports are that the 16 year old is single.
Lamine Yamal has lived in the city of Barcelona for long as he grew up in that part of Spain. He showed his skill and talent for football at a very young age as he was in school at Granollers he played football in La Torreta and still has connection even after moving to the Barcelona Academy in 2014 after a guy informed the academy on Lamine Yamal's football potential.
Club Football Career
The left-footed teenager arrived at La Masia [The Barcelona Academy] at a very young age as he joined the Barcelona juvenile team. He was to play for the juvenile B Team but was promoted to play in the juvenile A Team because of his free movement and ability to take on opponents. After scoring a lovely goal, he was selected to train with the first team in September 2022.
Lamine Yamal in 2022/23 played for the Barcelona B Team for his senior career making three appearances.
He had his debut in the first team off the bench on April 29, 2023. On his participation in the season he has a La liga title in his cabinet. On August 20, 2023 he gained his first start becoming the youngest Barcelona and La liga player at age 15, 9 months and 16 days
Lamine Yamal had his European debut off the bench in a 5-0 victory over Antwerp making him the second youngest player to be substituted into a Champion League on September 19,2023 at age 16, 68 days after Dortmund's Moukoko. On October 8, he made his full debut in the Uefa Champions League and became the youngest player in the competition's history to start at age 16, 83 days.
After excellent performances, the first goal would not take long to come as he scored on 8th October,2023 to help Barcelona secure a two all draw becoming the youngest Barcelona and La liga goalscorer. Due to his amazing performance, this is what his coach Xavi said about him; " he played with confidence and showed what he is about. He has no fear and bags of talents. Some of his passes in the final third were really good". A lot of fans said Lamine Yamal is the next Messi and he is the "Mini Messi" and this was Xavi 's reaction; "he is a similar player because he has innate talent in the final third which is difficult to find".
On 28th October, 2023, he played in a 2-1 defeat El Clásico fixture and surpassed Ansu Fati to become the youngest player to play in the huge classic fixture. Real Madrid coach Ancelotti said this about Barcelona young players; " I love them all,Yamal, Fermin [Lopez] young players with a future.
International Career.
Lamine Yamal is eligible to play for three different countries because of his parents and his place of birth. He can play for the Equatorial Guinea, Morocco and Spain. He wears the Spanish colours at the moment.
During his La Masia days, he played for Spain U15 and U16 team. Even at age 13, he played with the U16 side. He plays on the right wing of attack [the number 7 position] and because of his special skill, he can play as a false 9.
On 1st September, he got his senior team callup to play in the Euro qualifiers against Georgia. He made his debut off the bench on the 74th minutes as he scored in their 7-1 victory. His goal meant he is the youngest Spanish player to score at age 16, 50 days overtaking Gavi on 17 years, 62 days. He also overtook Gareth Bale to be the youngest player to score at the Euro qualifier. He has 4 senior international appearances and has 2 goals.
Honours
He holds the Tuttosport's The Youngest Award 2023, the U23 Player Of The Month August 2023. He also has the 2022/23 La liga title as well. He was the man of the match award in his second Barcelona game after assistant twice in 2023.

The Way Forward
After the departure of Dembele to PSG, Barcelona have stuck with Lamine Yamal and are in no rush to let go of him. The release clause in his contract is €1 billion. Manchester City would want his signature in 2025 where he will have a year left on his contract and his worth would have reduced.
Messi identifies the value of Lamine Yamal and says "Lamine,who is now very young and is already playing at Barcelona and being important will play a prominent role in fighting for it [the Ballon d'Or] in the future. There are always good players. A nice stage is coming forus to enjoy".
Lamine Yamal is certainly the next big thing in football and with discipline,hardwork and consistent training, he is going to be a real big gem.
